Behind The Scenes: Enoye
We went Behind the Scenes at our launch shoot to speak with Emily, Eno and Yamiini to hear all about their experience with Listen Journal and what inspires them creatively.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I love old things, old films, clothes songs I'm someone who really honours the past,I think there's something undeniable comforting about them. They are romantic, colourful, and the outfits form back then especially the 50s and 60s always catch me off guard, I can't take my eyes off. When people first meet me they always describe as introverted but I'm actually quite friendly, I'm just very protective of who gets to know me.
How do you prefer to express yourself creatively?
I'm really creative, so it's always hands on, cooking or painting. I love painting, I like to journal too. It's very relaxing to put jumbled thoughts onto paper. I also just love engaging with creative things that really inspire me, it could be listening to music or maybe even just reading, going to galleries.
When you hear the word femininity, what comes to mind?
Femininity to me is confidence, it refuses to repressed, its loud and fun. It's not only exclusively for women but for whoever wears their skin like jewelry, people who aren't afraid to be authentic. It isn't something surface level. It's a feeling
What represents community for you?
Community to me represents the people you share your culture and values with. People who you trust and are loyal. A Tight knit small group of people who you keep close to your heart.
What impression do you hope to leave with people?
I really want people to feel like they can be themselves around and that I'm kind and someone fun to share their time and energy with.
How was your experience shooting with Listen Journal?
I felt seen, confident and proud to be part of such a beautiful project. And honestly happy to work with people who are so talented.
